Meet the teachers
Miss Julie
Miss Julie has many roles at Mashpee Creative. Not only is she the owner and director, but she is also the lead teacher of our pre-kindergarten class. Miss Julie received her BA in Cognitive Science and Developmental Psychology from Brown University and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education from Fairfield University with a concentration in Curriculum Development and Planning. She began her career as an Early Childhood Coordinator and Literacy Coordinator for the Head Start programs in Norwalk CT. After her daughter was born in March 2000 she moved to Sandwich, MA and began her career at Mashpee Creative and has been there ever since. She loves Mashpee Creative because of its focus on kindness and empathy in everything they do. When she isn’t working, she likes to spend time with her partner, Jeff, her two daughters, Anna and Allie and their playful puppies, Lucy and Gracie.
Miss Katie
Miss Katie is the lead teacher for the upstairs preschool class.. Miss Katie has been a part of the Mashpee Creative family for the past 10 years. Her family chose this school for their two daughters, Hazel (12) and Elle (9) and couldn't have been happier with the love and care they received here. Miss Katie received her BS in Psychology and Health Studies from Keene State College and immediately went on to earn her Master's Degree in Child Life and Family Centered Care from Wheelock College. Miss Katie worked for 7 years as a Certified Child Life Specialist at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital and the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth before deciding to be a stay at home mom when her first daughter was born. Miss Katie lives in Sandwich with her husband, daughters, puppy Splash and two guinea pigs, Trixie and Snickers. She loves spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, concerts, and book club.
